CHINCHILLA COMMUNITY COLLECTION

Lapunyah Art Gallery Inc. has guardianship of the Chinchilla Community Collection in perpetuity.

The Collection comprises over 250 artworks which have been collected, bought or donated over the past 50 years by the former Chinchilla Shire Council, the Western Downs Regional Council and Lapunyah Art Gallery Inc. It is comprised of indoor and outdoor works, 2D and 3D works, artworks of various mediums and techniques, artworks of artists who are locally, regionally and nationally recognised, and a flora collection of national significance.

Guidelines and procedures for the Collection are set out in the Chinchilla Community Collection Policy, which:

• Is designed to guide the everyday activities of the Lapunyah Art Gallery Inc. Committee when dealing with the Collection

• Outlines processes and procedures for accessioning, deaccessioning, caring for and maintenance of the Collection
