EXHIBITION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

LAPUNYAH ART GALLERY CURATORIAL FRAMEWORK POLICY (PRECIS)
The Curatorial Framework will:
1. Inspire creative and cultural expression within all stakeholders
2. Be a catalyst for the development and the delivery of arts and culture for all stakeholders
3. Focus, to differing degrees, on the Values of Respect, Embracing Diversity, Creativity, Transparent Communication and Collaboration as their main pivots
4. Encourage artists to develop exhibition stories which engage Gallery stakeholders
5. Ensure artists look beyond their chosen medium to focus on the Values of the Gallery
The Curatorial Framework criteria will incorporate:
· A variety of mediums and genres across all Visual Arts spectrum, provided the expertise in installation, suitable infrastructure and appropriate equipment are available, and it fits within the cost parameters of LAG Inc Annual Budget
· Exhibition Proposals may be made by artists, craftspeople, curators, community groups and interested individuals
· Exhibition Proposals must meet the ethos of LAG Inc i.e. inclusivity, embrace diversity, respectful to all, evoke a collaborative and communicative environment and centre around the creativity of the individual or the group as a whole
· Exhibition Proposals incorporating Artificial Intelligence artworks will not be accepted
· A 24 month Exhibition Planning Schedule, incorporating touring exhibitions, local artists/groups, gallery-run exhibitions, regional artists/groups and others, should be maintained to ensure continuity
· Exhibition Proposals from the same interested person/s can only be accepted every two years
· Exhibition artworks should not be more than 24 months old nor have been shown at Lapunyah Art Gallery before, unless the following applies: the exhibition is a retrospective, or the exhibitor has approval from LAG Inc Committee to show older work or previously seen work in their exhibition
· Exhibitors wishing to show older work or previously seen work in their exhibitions must present their reasons for doing so before an Exhibition Proposal will be accepted e.g. individual works are a long-term project (e.g. quilting), works are a part of a long-term theme, individual works seen before at Lapunyah are a part of this long-term theme
· LAG Inc Committee has the final say in whether or not artworks meeting the above criteria will be accepted
· Exhibition time slots can be nominated in Proposals but the final decision regarding the timeline of the yearly exhibition schedule is made by the LAG Inc Committee
· Exhibition timeslots will run for a period determined by LAG Inc Committee, but will generally run from 4 to 6 weeks
· Exhibition schedules for the next year will be announced by the end of September each year










Lapunyah Art Gallery Exhibition Proposal Form
All artists/groups wishing to exhibit in Gallery 1 at Lapunyah Art Gallery must present an Exhibition Proposal to the Committee using the Lapunyah Art Gallery Exhibition Proposal Form.
EXHIBITION PROCEDURES (PRECIS)
Proposal Acceptance:
· All proposals for Gallery 1 are assessed by the Lapunyah Art Gallery Inc. Committee at the next available general meeting.
· If accepted, you will receive an email of acceptance and a Booking Fee Invoice for $50.
· An additional Exhibition Invoice of $250 will be sent with the exhibition Paperwork four months prior to your exhibition. This makes a total fee of $300 for exhibiting at Lapunyah.
· This should be fully paid one month prior to exhibition Opening.
· If the exhibitor withdraws from the allocated timeslot and no paying exhibitor can be found to replace them, the Booking Fee of $50 will be forfeit.
· Your exhibition date will be confirmed no later than the end of September of the year before your exhibition date. N.B. A change of date may occur due to unforeseen circumstances, but consultation with artists exhibiting will occur before dates are changed.
Documentation Leading Up to Your Exhibition
· Accepted exhibition artists/groups will receive at least four months before their allocated exhibition date, an electronic version of the Exhibition Forms Package, containing: exhibition forms, a checklist, a timeline of events, and an Exhibition Opening Guide.
· The forms need to be completed and returned to Lapunyah Art Gallery by the date indicated on the timeline.
· If you are a group of exhibitors, one nominated person from that group is required to distribute copies of the Exhibition Forms Package to each group member and be responsible for dealing with the nominated Lapunyah Art Gallery volunteer.
· NO HANDWRITTEN COPIES OF FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALL FORMS MUST BE IN A WORD DOCUMENT FORMAT.
